Synopsis
Ethan Frome est un homme mystérieux vivant à l'écart d'un petit village de la Nouvelle Angleterre. Le nouveau Révérend s'intéresse à ce personnage dont la communauté préfère ne pas parler. Il apprend que Frome a sacrifié sa brillante carrière pour un mariage raté avec une femme malade chronique. Arrive alors Mattie, une jeune cousine.
